Zi Wei Children Palace (子女宫)

In a Zi Wei Dou Shu chart, the Children Palace (子女宫) speaks to how you nurture, connect and create. This guide reads it as a reflective lens, not a prediction.

Where it is

The Children Palace is the palace counted fifth from the Life Palace (命宫) in the Zi Wei chart. Traditionally it represents children, but it also covers creative projects, students and the people you mentor.

What tradition looks at

The reading pays attention to a few things in that palace:

  • The main stars sitting there — e.g. 天府 or 天同 suggest a gentle, steady parenting style; 太阳 a bright, engaged connection.
  • The four transformations (化禄 / 化权 / 化科 / 化忌) — they colour whether the energy flows, stabilises, refines or contracts.
  • The elemental nature of the palace and its stars.

Beyond biology

In a modern reading the Children Palace is less about a number of children and more about how you nurture — your creative "children" (the work you put into the world) and the younger or less-experienced people you guide. For the palace system behind this, see our twelve palaces guide.

A balanced read

One palace is only one of twelve. Don't fixate on it. Build your full Zi Wei chart and read the Children Palace alongside the Life Palace and the whole picture — start with the Life Palace guide.

Frequently asked questions

Does it predict how many children I'll have?

No. In modern use the Children Palace is read as your parenting style and the quality of connection with children and mentees — not a headcount.

What if the palace has 'difficult' stars?

Stars are not good-or-bad absolutes. Their meaning depends on the whole chart, the four transformations, and the life context. One palace never defines a person.

Can it show my relationship with mentees or projects?

Yes. Beyond biological children, the palace also reflects creative output — the 'children' of your work — and the people you guide or teach.
